Over the next three years, the Skill Streams for Success Workforce Development program will provide basic skill assessment and job training programs for youth and adults. This program is open to anyone residing in Dinwiddie, Greensville and Sussex Counties and the City of Emporia who are interested in upgrading their job skills. Those individuals and their families who have been dependent on tobacco production and distribution may be eligible for scholarship funds. Trainees will benefit by gaining entry-level job skills and businesses will benefit by acquiring skilled workers who can adapt to a changing workplace.
The Skill Streams for Success program is sponsored by the Crater Regional Partnership, the Community College Workforce Alliance and the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission.
